Gameplay:
Tekken 7 focuses on 1v1 battles. New features to the gameplay include:
- In Rage mode, a character can use Rage Art, which causes it to deactivate until the next round. Depending on the character, the initial attack will trigger a cinematic sequence and deal roughly 30% damage.
- With Power Crush, you can absorb an opponent's hits with Mid or High and keep attacking.
- With Screw Hits, you can perform long, high-damage combos by knocking an opponent hit by a launcher back to the ground into a vulnerable state. As with Ground Bounding moves, Screw hits alter the opponent's animation, putting them into an aerial tailspin (i.e. a "screw") as they fall. Screw hits can't be combined with walls like Ground Bound.
The game's multiplayer lets players choose which side of the screen they want to play on. Tekken Revolution's movement mechanics are similar to this game, most notably the ability to walk backwards. This arcade version features the traditional stage-based playthrough where you beat five opponents one by one to get to the penultimate and final stage. - Jump physics and air attacks can be used more offensively than in the Tekken series.
- The Super Combo meter builds up as the fight progresses and is used to use "EX" versions of special moves.
